Bio
With over twenty years of professional experience, Branko Marković is a versatile artist working with different mediums.
His engagements as an author, visual editor, graphic designer, and photographer linked him with renowned establishments such as Radio Television of Serbia, National Library of Serbia, Museum of Contemporary Art Belgrade, Sava Center and Laguna. He co-founded two literary festivals, and is a co-organizer of the distinguished international short story festival Kikinda Short. He exhibited his works in group and solo exhibitions.
He an obtained MFA degree in painting at the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Arts, Belgrade and a degree in graphic and packaging design at the Belgrade School of Design.

Rakita Village
Back in February 2019 I accompanied my friend and colleague Igor Pavićević on a journey through the Pirot district in Southeastern Serbia, documenting what I observed along the way. I was assisting him on an assignment project about mini hydro power plants and the growing endeavor of locals to protect their rivers and land against the imposing of the technology that threatened to destroy the ecosystem and to pollute the nature and their lives. These images witness fears of the people determined to stay on their land.
long-term project
Old Sava Bridge - The Identity Erasure
As a part of a long-term project, I am documenting the process of Yugoslav heritage demolition. Factory complexes, architectural units with monuments and works of art, many symbols of several epochs have been neglected by design, left to oblivion, waiting only for the right investor to invest part of his capital in some kind of transformative project. The Old Sava bridge in Belgrade, one of the symbols of the SFRY era, i one of many that did not survive the assault of the ruling establishment (2024/2025).

Aktivitet: 100 Years of Surrealism
The exhibition is celebrating the centenary of surrealism in Serbia and around the world – one hundred years since the publication of André Breton’s first Manifesto of Surrealism and the formative activities of the Belgrade Surrealist Circle in the autumn of 1924. I had the pleasure of photographing the exhibition at The Museum of Contemporary Art, Belgrade – in dimmed, challenging lighting conditions.
